Dr. James Gano decided he wanted to become a chiropractor during career day in middle school, drawn early on to the idea of helping people through hands-on care, movement, and healthier long-term habits. That early interest in chiropractic care became especially personal after Dr. Gano dealt with serious back issues as a teenager and later developed drop foot. Going through that experience gave him firsthand understanding of how deeply pain can affect a person’s daily life. It also strengthened his desire to help people find practical, natural ways to move and feel better again.

Dr. Gano went on to study Exercise Physiology at Colorado Mesa University before earning his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic. He later completed additional training through the Rhode Island Spine Institute, where he gained experience around spinal care, diagnosis, and collaborative treatment approaches. While pursuing his education, Dr. Gano was drawn to programs that emphasized hands-on learning and close interaction with instructors. That approach still influences the way he works with patients today at his practice, Back to Life Chiropractic.

At Back to Life Chiropractic, what stands out is the thoughtfulness behind the care. Patients often appreciate that Dr. Gano takes time to listen, explain what he is seeing, and avoid a rushed approach to treatment. Some patients respond best to adjustments, while others benefit more from stabilization work, movement-based care, or softer treatment methods. He believes paying close attention to how each person responds is an important part of helping them feel comfortable and move in the right direction.

Dr. Gano’s interest in recovery and long-term wellness also extends beyond treatments inside the practice. He has spent years developing a personal outdoor wellness project centered around relaxation and recovery, including a 12-foot barrel sauna. The project reflects his broader interest in how people heal and maintain their bodies.

Patients can expect a practice built around attention, experience, and common sense. Back to Life Chiropractic is centered on helping people move better, feel more at ease, and get back to the activities and routines that matter to them most.
