Ebb & Flow Yoga
Long before Ebb & Flow Yoga became a studio, yoga had already become something Gina Laureys relied on in her own life. She began taking classes while dealing with back problems and the strain of the pandemic. The practice helped her physically and mentally, and before long she found herself returning to classes again and again.
Becoming an instructor was not something Gina immediately pictured for herself. When teachers encouraged her to pursue certification, one of her first thoughts was that she did not look like what she imagined a yoga teacher should look like. Eventually, she moved past that assumption. The training strengthened her confidence and helped shape a belief that remains central to Ebb & Flow: yoga is not reserved for a certain body type, age, fitness level, or amount of experience.
Gina, the owner and one of the founders of Ebb & Flow, started by teaching one class a week in a gym, creating as peaceful a setting as she could among the workout equipment. She later moved into a small shared space and established Ebb & Flow as a business. From there, it grew with fellow founders Jim Senderhauf, Chrissy Vagenius, and Katie Siminski, who each helped shape what the studio became.
Music became part of the story early on. Jim began playing guitar during Gina’s classes, bringing together two things that had long helped her feel better: yoga and music. That combination has grown to include live guitar and harmonium, along with sound experiences that pair music with reflection and Chrissy’s writing. It gives people another way to slow down and relax alongside the physical practice.
That same sense of openness carries through the experience. The studio has a calm, welcoming feel, and the teaching leaves room for people to work at their own level. Someone walking into a yoga class for the first time can be just as much at home there as someone who has practiced for years. Depending on the person, yoga might mean strength and movement, gentle stretching, breathing, reflection, stillness, or simply an opportunity to slow down.
For Gina, creating that kind of place is a meaningful part of what Ebb & Flow has become. People do not need to arrive already flexible, experienced, or confident. They can simply come as they are, find what works for them, and feel part of a community where people are encouraged to be themselves.

I’ve been coming to Ebb and Flow Yoga for the past year, and I truly can’t say enough wonderful things about this studio and its teachers. From the moment you walk in, there’s a welcoming, supportive energy that makes it feel like home.
Each teacher brings a unique perspective and teaching style, which keeps every class fresh and meaningful. Gina and Jim offer an incredible combination of yoga and live music that creates such a special, immersive experience. Maura provides fantastic training in hot yoga—challenging, empowering, and thoughtfully guided. Chrissy blends poetry and yoga in a way that feels deeply inspiring and soulful. Jess’s slow flow classes are simply wonderful—grounding, intentional, and exactly what you need at the beginning of your week or morning.
Ebb and Flow is truly a special place. I’m so grateful to have found this studio and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic, welcoming yoga community.
