What began as a side project in 2016 grew from something Ray Tominello already knew well: working with his hands, solving practical problems, and paying attention to how things are put together. With a background as a building engineer, Ray was comfortable around tools, equipment, and the trades. After seeing professional holiday lighting firsthand, he decided to try the work himself. His first public customer would eventually become his wife, adding a personal connection to the early days of Rays Holiday Lights.

Over time, the work expanded beyond traditional holiday displays into permanent, landscape, patio, and commercial lighting. Whatever the project, Ray brings a careful approach to how everything is designed and installed. Seasonal lights are cut specifically to fit each home, with the connecting wires cut to length as well rather than leaving excess cord around the property. Permanent systems are installed neatly into tracks, keeping wiring out of sight and giving the finished project a clean appearance that fits the property. Outside of lighting, Ray also owns Poop Patrol, a local dog waste removal service that helps provide additional work for his team throughout the year.

Much of the appeal is how little the customer has to manage. With seasonal lighting, Ray handles the lights, installation, removal, storage, and service when something needs attention. He takes time to explain the options, listens to what the customer wants, and follows through on the work. Many customers return year after year, appreciating both the finished result and how easy Ray makes the process.

Safety matters just as much as appearance. Working on roofs, ladders, and lifts requires experience and care, and Ray takes that responsibility seriously. He is also particular about the materials and systems he installs, looking beyond how something appears on the first day to how well it will hold up and what happens if something needs attention later.

One of Ray’s favorite parts of the work is seeing the reaction when the lights come on for the first time. He has watched homeowners smile and children rush outside excited to see the finished display. For customers, the result is careful workmanship, dependable follow-through, and lighting they can simply enjoy once the work is done.

Ray and his team are quick and do a great job. They even stop by and fix wind blown lights when they notice driving past to another job 😊 Highly recommend these guys …
