Strive Healing
For many people, good care starts with something simple: having enough time to explain what is really going on. That belief is at the heart of Strive Healing, the practice created by Jennifer Daley Herrera, WHNP-BC, FNP-BC. Jen approaches care by listening closely, looking at the larger picture, and helping patients understand what their symptoms, history, and lab work may be telling them.
Medicine has been part of Jen’s life since childhood. Her family owned and operated an ambulance service, and she grew up seeing both healthcare and a family-run business firsthand. She started working as an EMT at 17, entered nursing school soon after, and became a registered nurse at 20. Her career went on to include nursery and NICU care, women’s health, infertility, and OB-GYN care.
Jen continued building on that experience throughout her education. She earned her associate and bachelor’s degrees in nursing from Purdue University Calumet, followed by her Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Cincinnati. She later returned to Purdue University Northwest for Family Nurse Practitioner training, allowing her to care for a broader range of patients. Today, she is a double board-certified Nurse Practitioner in Women’s Health and Family Practice. She has also completed extensive post-degree coursework in functional medicine and is board certified in homeopathy.
Her own experiences as both a provider and a patient helped shape the way she practices today. Jen knows how frustrating it can be when someone senses that something is wrong but feels rushed, dismissed, or told that everything looks normal. Over time, she became increasingly interested in looking beyond isolated symptoms and considering how hormones, thyroid function, nutrition, blood sugar, vitamin levels, lifestyle, and other parts of health can connect.
That perspective became the foundation for Strive Healing. What Jen originally imagined as a small side practice quickly became something much larger, growing largely through word of mouth as former patients and others sought out her approach. She focuses on hormone health for both men and women, thyroid concerns, metabolic wellness, and functional lab interpretation while keeping education central to the process.
The experience itself is designed to feel different from a rushed medical visit. The office has a comfortable, welcoming feel, and after the basic exam, patients move into Jen’s office to talk through their history, concerns, lab work, and questions in a more relaxed setting. She takes time to walk patients through their lab work, discusses the options she recommends, and gives them room to make their own decisions about their care.
Support does not end with that first conversation. Jen encourages patients to ask questions when something changes, follows up, and makes herself available between visits when adjustments are needed. It is a personal approach built around knowing the patient rather than treating each appointment as an isolated encounter. That approach brings everything back to the patient: taking the time to listen, explaining what she sees, and giving people the information and options they need to make informed decisions about their health.

Jen is so attentive, easy to talk to and LISTENS. I felt comfortable with her immediately. My visit was long enough that there was time to discuss all areas of my health concerns and general health. Exceptional, kind staff from the moment you walk in to the beautiful office (it smells good, too!).
