What started with Summer Borkowski looking for a more personalized spray tan experience eventually grew into something much broader. With a family history of melanoma, Summer decided in her 20s to avoid tanning beds and became a fan of spray tanning instead. She often found herself traveling elsewhere to have someone spray her by hand, and eventually she began offering custom airbrush tans from her own home, first for friends and family, then for the people they referred to her.

As SUMMERGOLD Wellness Co. grew, Summer began thinking beyond a single service. She added skin and beauty treatments and later expanded further into wellness, including red light therapy and infrared sauna. Through that growth, one idea has remained consistent. Summer wants people to have ways to care for themselves that feel approachable and supportive rather than driven by pressure about how they are supposed to look.

That philosophy is especially noticeable in services that can make someone feel vulnerable or uncertain. Trying something unfamiliar can come with plenty of questions, and education is a big part of the experience at SUMMERGOLD. People are told what to expect, given clear aftercare guidance, and encouraged to ask questions along the way. That guidance helps take some of the uncertainty out of the experience.

Summer has also been deliberate about creating an atmosphere without shame or unrealistic beauty standards. She does not want someone walking through the door feeling as though something about them needs to be fixed. Instead, the focus is on feeling good in your own skin, taking time for yourself, and choosing the kinds of care that make sense for you.

That same care shows up in how Summer evaluates new ideas. She spends time researching how different services work and thinking about how they will actually feel for the people using them. While developing The Ritual, a wellness circuit that brings together four different steps, Summer looked closely at hot-and-cold therapy and what she learned about how women and men may respond differently to it. Because most of her clients are women, she chose to build a gentler cool-down period into the circuit rather than moving directly from the sauna into a cold plunge. She is similarly careful about red light therapy, paying attention to the equipment and distinguishing it from devices that also incorporate UV exposure. For Summer, adding something new is not simply about following a trend. It has to make sense for the kind of experience she wants to provide.

Summer also continues to pay attention to what people are interested in and uses those conversations to help shape what comes next. Even as SUMMERGOLD continues to evolve, the philosophy behind it has stayed steady. For Summer, beauty and wellness are not about pointing out what needs to change. They are about helping people feel comfortable, cared for, and more confident in their own skin.

Had my first ever spray tan done here at Summer Gold and I can say it definitely will not be my last!
Summer and Kylee were so polite, professional, extremely helpful, and very informative. I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars they are wonderful, I felt so comfortable and they went out of their way to wrap my foot so I could tan as I had just gotten a tattoo a week ago and I was nervous I wouldn’t be able to do it. Thank you so much ladies I am looking forward to booking my next tan here!
